Available Position: Cabling Technician

  • Install voice and data cabling according to our written Cabling Standards.
  • Install network hardware, speakers, wireless access points, cameras, and other equipment.
  • Work quickly and as part of a team, while paying attention to the quality of your work.
  • Keep a clean and regularly serviced vehicle, stocked with commonly used parts and materials.
  • Effectively communicate questions, problems and project changes with the Project Manager.

Requirements:

  • Prior cabling or telecommunications experience preferred, but we are willing to train those willing to learn.
  • Requires frequent use of ladders and scissor lifts, and carrying loads of up to 50 lbs. Cabling technicians must be able to work on their feet and with their hands for up to 8 hours every day.
  • All technicians must have a professional and friendly attitude.
  • Select Telecom provides informal and formal learning opportunities to its technicians, including certification courses and tests as needed.

Available Position: Telecommunications Technician

  • Install and service business telephone equipment and surveillance camera systems.
  • Install T1, PRI and POTS lines.
  • Attain high customer satisfaction and communicate effectively with the client to ensure that the job is getting done properly.
  • Provide detailed and correct information — including date and time serviced, parts used, and customer signature — on all completed service orders; turn in completed service order forms immediately.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call service as needed.
  • Perform all tasks required of helpdesk and cabling technicians.

Requirements:

  • Service Technicians are required to have an extensive knowledge of the products we sell, and some customer service experience.
  • Service and Helpdesk Technicians must be computer savvy, with experience in Microsoft Office, digital telephone system software, and data networking.
  • All technicians must have a professional and friendly attitude with new and existing customers who are trying to understand products unfamiliar to them.
